Sheet Feeder Gripper for Cupping Press

The sheet feeder gripper is the gripping unit of the reciprocating sheet feeder on a cupping press line for two-piece can bodies. Mounted in a left- and right-hand pair on the rocking feeder frame, the grippers clamp the edge of the aluminium sheet and advance it into the cupping press, where the sheet is blanked and drawn into cups. The cups then move on to the bodymaker for redrawing and wall ironing into finished can bodies.
